What is the "Dream Project"?

We all have dreams. What is yours? What is the craziest dream you would like to realize today, this year in the field of culture? These are the basic questions framing your dream project for this semester. In addition, you must work with people who speak English to create this project, people from English-speaking countries or people with whom you speak English in other countries (or even in France). Ideally, the project would cross borders, so you should try to make contacts with people in English-speaking countries.

After you have established the basic framework for your project with your partner, you must try to work out all the practical details: partners, budget, timeline, communication plan, and so on. Put the skills you have acquired to good use. Dream and make us all dream!

More on Austerity measures

Hi everyone,

Please read the following text for Tuesday. It's something I discovered on the BBC website. Be ready to tell me what you think about it.

TUC backs 'general strike' motion over spending cuts

The TUC has voted to look into the "practicalities" of organising a "general strike", in protest at government spending cuts.
The trade union movement's conference overwhelmingly backed a motion which also called for a "coalition of resistance" to "austerity measures".
Steve Gillan, leader of the Prison Officers' Association, urged delegates to be "a strong voice".
The Conservatives said unions must "withdraw their threats" of action.
The TUC's annual conference in Brighton has been dominated by criticism of the government's economic policies, including the public sector pay freeze and its spending plans for services including health and education.
Marches have been organised on 20 October in London, Belfast and Glasgow.

CADTM's work

Hi Everyone,

The CADTM (Comité pour l'Annulation de la Dette du Tiers Monde) is a very active group, working right now in conjunction with the CAC to raise awareness about the problem of public debt in France and the need to fight against austerity measures, which are only going to help the richest people.

Here is an interesting link for taking action: http://www.audit-citoyen.org/?p=2973

Let me know if you would be interested in helping organise a CADTM evening in Arles. We could screen a movie and have a discussion and debate so that more people know about its important activities.
